I had a fantastic weekend last weekend scrapbooking into the wee hours of the night. 4:30 in the morning to be exact! Yikes...I haven't pulled one of those in a looooong time. I think Michelle and I watched all 3 Twilight movies and a few others before and after...no wonder it took me so long to get my projects done. I hope you like them, they will be on our flickr page this weekend.

This is a fun one of the boys at our garage sale.

So that's what I've been up to this last week, how about you? Got any fun plans for the month of July? We are taking the kids up to Michigan Adventure in the morning, they are BEYOND excited and I can't wait to have fun with my family. We need some good family time, it's been a crazy summer so far and we all seem to be going every which way but with each other! I'll post some pics when we get back.

Last Ride with the Edge

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!! I have my video of the Ford Edge, a day late but it was so flippin' rainy yesterday I couldn't do it. (Pay no attention to the nervous rubbing of the lip) :)

He, I always laugh when I see myself in these videos...what a DORK!! I sure hope you have enjoyed watching these, even though I think I look ridiculous it was an awesome experience! Kathy over at Harold Ziegler in Elkhart asked me to choose my favorite car...but I am going to keep you in suspense until Sunday night! I totally have a favorite and I want one really bad...really REALLY bad!

Have a SAFE & FUN 4th of July everyone! We are headed down to lake Wawasee for the weekend. We go every year to hang with some great friends and the fireworks are shot from a barge in the middle of the lake, SO COOL! There is nothing like watching the sky light up as you lie on a boat with your babies snuggled up with you! I can't wait to be with these cool cats tomorrow...

On the Edge

Hello Folks. It has been WAY too long since my last post but it has been so stinkin' busy around here! Here are some things I've been up to!

And the most exciting thing this week...

Driving a new Ford Edge from Harold Ziegler Ford in Elkhart!!

I am having a ball driving this car! It is SOOOO not a mini van, and I LOVE that! I am so over driving a mini van and this car has been such a breath of fresh air. It feels a lot like the Ford Explorer just a little more compact. I will be back tomorrow with my fun video "tour" of this bad boy! And yes...this car is ALL boy! :)

Happy Fathers Day!

I hope everyone had a fantastic-ly amazing fathers day! Ours was pretty low key which is nice sometimes. My mom and dad came down yesterday and we grilled out with friends. We haven't done that in a looooong time and it was so nice to hang with those folks that are kind enough to be our friends (mom and dad don't have a choice)! It was a great night watching the kids all run around together...and FROM eachother! Then of course as it got dark the customary chasing of the fireflies which always leads to TONS of mosquito bites! Today I just relaxed with my parents as Von golfed with the neighbor boys. I got all the June Midnight Rooster kits packed up and they are ready to ship tomorrow! I also did a video post of my current vehicle obsession...the Ford Flex! Please don't judge me on this video today...I was a little tired and lost myself as I went into detail on the car!! There are SO many cool things about this car that my ADD kicks in and my mind is jumping from one cool thing to the other! So please...forgive the girl behind the camera!

I love this car so much and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to drive one of these bad boys! I hadn't heard much about them and man is that a shame! These Flex's have so much to offer a family and I highly recommend you go test drive one. Kathy and Damon over at Harold Ziegler Ford have a few of these on the lot...go check them out!!

I love when I am surprised...

This new car, the Ford Flex, has surprised me. It was so different looking form the Explorer so I figured it had to be different looking on the inside too. WRONG!! It is amazing, inside and out.

We have been driving it since Monday and to say that I am enjoying it is an uderstatement! And Von...he LOVES this Flex. It sits lower to the ground but still has that SUV feel. And it has the room of a mini van without the "mini van" status, which "I" love because I am tired of being a mini van driving mommy. It has all the SYNC features which is fantastic...I still get to tell "Nancy" what to do! I won't get too detailed in my post tonight, I want to save it for video posting tomorrow.

If you can't wait too see it, then drive over to your local Ford dealership and tell 'em the Blogging Mommy sent you over to drive this amazing machine! If you live in my area, eh hem, that would be Harold Ziegler Ford in Elkhart. ;)

My last ride with the Explorer...

That's right, I had to take back the Explorer today. I'm gonna miss that girl. I have some last bit of awesome-ness to show you so soak it up and enjoy!!!

Remember when I said I was going to share a really cool feature? So I was driving down the by-pass last weekend and I have this baby on cruise. Suddenly it starts slowing down and I haven't touched anything...then I noticed the car in front of me had slowed down. Hmmmm. The car in front of me started to speed back up...so did the Explorer. Wow...it senses the speed of the car in front of you when you have your cruise control on and adjusts your speed so you don't get too close. Amazing. I asked it to order me P.F. Changes but then took it back because I was worried it might actually show up in the glove box or something! I'm tellin' ya guys, this vehicle does it all!!

Here are a couple of other cool things I wanted to show you before I took her back...

I had a small tear in my eye as I gave Kathy from Harold Ziegler the key back, but I was super excited to see what new vehicle I was going to fall in love with next!

So I have some more video as promised of this lovely vehicle so kindly given to me for the week by our local Ford dealership, Harold Ziegler Ford of Elkhart.
Once again I look horrible!! The allergies are kickin' my butt and my eyes are all swollen and red and itchy!! So pay no attention to me...just check out the cool feature I highlighted...along with my daughter Emma!

And third times a charm...

So I realize I taped this on Monday, but with the sad news of little Isaac I just didn't have it in me last night to post about the car. But today is a new day, a fresh day...a very HOT day and the LAST day of school for our kiddos. If you have any questions about this car or any other cars Ford makes you can contact Harold Ziegler Ford and ask for Damon. Or better yet, go in and test drive one of these babies and fall in love like I have!! Make sure to tell them "The Blogging Mommy" sent you!

Praying for this boy

My heart is here, with this boy and his family tonight.

I really, really want to brag up a car...but my heart just isn't there tonight. This little boy, his name is Isaac and he is 5 years old, is the son of a high school friend that Von played basketball with. We called him cabbage head, but all in love because he is one of the nicest people you will ever know. This little boy is the son a mother that my husband taught with at the elementary school. She is funny as hell and witty and beautiful. This little boy is a brother...sandwiched in between two brothers who love him like only brothers can love each other. This little boy is a grandson, a nephew, a friend. Yesterday he was just a little boy...today he is a little boy that just had a malignant tumor removed from his brain. At age 5. The reality of this is like falling from a fence as a kid and having all the air knocked out of you leaving you unable to breathe. The reality of this is looking at your own children and wondering how and why they are so lucky and naive that they don't know this kind of fear...yet. The reality of this is knowing that no matter what you do or scream or pray or cry, it is out of your hands. The strength this family will come to know is a strength I don't think exists for people going on in an uninterupted world. If you are a praying person, please pray for this family. If you a spiritual person, please think of them often and wish them peace and harmony.

I will be back tomorrow to share about the car.
But for tonight, lets put cars and houses and "stuff" out of our thoughts...and think of our children and loved ones.

Swap my ride...day 1!

Hello friends! Check this bad boy out...

I think it's the most beautiful car I've ever seen! This is what I'll be driving for the next week, maybe 2 if I can't possibly give it up.
So here's how it all went down today...
I drive up in my 'ol mini van and told her I still loved her even though I was doing this...
I walked in to Harold Zeigler Ford and met Kathy, the GM. She was beautiful and funny and super-super nice! She took me out to the car, introduced me to one of her top sales guys, Damon, and he showed me the in's and out's of this gorgeous beauty. I drove away with a huge smile on my face anxious to share my love with you, but not until I fed my belly with some lunch. Oh and did I mention it had a full tank of gas??? Love it.

Here's Damon getting me all set up and syncing my iphone so all calls come through the speakers of the car when I'm driving...amazingly cool.

There are so many amazing features about this car, I can't believe how much it does and how user friendly it is. I think it took all of 2 minutes to sync my phone! Almost everything you want to do can be done by voice command or through the touch screen. I'm kinda bossy so I like to tell the computer voice lady what to do...we call her Nancy. I took a short video to show you my favorite feature...PLEASE don't judge me on how rediculous I look, it's a bad angle folks! And I had to do 2 different videos, because well...videography isn't my speciality. Enjoy!!!

Did ya get a gool 'ol laugh...?? Tomorrow I promise I will hold my camera horizontally!

I will be this month!
I have some super exciting, awesomly cool news to share!!! So my amazingly cool best friend Michelle works in the sales department for B100, our local country radio station. They recently hosted a "mom's day out" in honor of mother's day where some lucky mommas were totally pampered for the morning and driven around in a sweet ride donated by Harold Zeigler Ford. When Michelle went to drop the car off that afternoon Kathy, the General Manager asked if Michelle would be interested in driving a new car for a week and then blogging and facebooking about her thoughts on the car. Michelle's not a big blogger and turned her down, however when she turned her down she SOOOO kindly offered up my name instead! (Cool eh?) So Kathy called me and we have it all set up for me go in tomorrow to try the first car! I feel so honored to be chosen to do this, how cool to drive a NEW car for 2 weeks and then blog about it and how cool it is! I will post the pictures and video tomorrow so be sure to check back to see how it went!!

Some other exciting stuff in the land of the Oxenriders...my little Beanie Bop graduated Kindergarten tonight..wha??? Hard to believe this georgeos little chub of a baby grew up and made it through a YEAR of school already! I guess he's all the reminder I need that I will be turning 37 in July. THIRTY-SEVEN? Amazing, I still feel like I'm 30.

He's so handsome...I just love this little punk.

So it made it to summer status in Indiana this weekend. Warm enough for our hillbilly slip n slide...

the funniest thing about this is that our neighbor had just mowed the retention pond that the kids were sliding into...so they ended in a big fluffy pile of clumpy grass!
Gross...

They thought it was awesome so I guess all those little grass cuts they all got were worth it??? OUCH!!!

*beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* please stay tuned as we are experiencing technical difficulties.

So I have been saying some big prayers every night. Not for God to let us have a successful kit club, or to sell out in the first day...but for peace. There is so much that goes on behind these cyber walls and I need all the calming peace prayers you can shoot up right now. Normally I am a bit of control freak hot head. But this whole experience has changed that a bit. I can't control this website building, it is in the hands of some great people...and those people are only human. I know they are working hard to get this right and loosing my cool is not going to get them to work faster. And plus, I reeeeeeeeeeely like these guys, they are so awesome! So calm I shall stay...until this baby is up and running smoothly.

I will post or final two AMAZING designers and their work tomorrow. What a fantastic Mothers Day treat for you all! I don't want their post to be overshadowed by this delay news...they need to have all the focus on THEM!! I will also announce the winner of the stamp from yesterday in that post.

Kirsty Wiseman

I’m married to Mark and we have a lovely daughter called Ellie, We also have a dog called Eddy and together we are invincible.
We live in a northern town in the UK and spend most of our free time together just cozying up and enjoying life and its challenges.

I’m a serial crafter and have been crafting professionally since 2004. I freelance design for several UK craft magazines, design rubber stamps and patterned paper lines, test uk craft product, demonstrate on a dedicated craft shopping channel and when that’s not happening I am a professional photographer catering for weddings, portraits and corporate literature. Scrap booking is my first love and will remain to be so but I’m not averse to card making, altered art, stamping and all round general faffing with paper. I enjoy the contact with like minder crafters and have made many friends through it - that is one added bonus to the industry and one I covet the most. I love being creative, it really does allow me to drain the other things in life that can drag you down and by doing so it recharges my batteries and gives me a renewed zest for life each and every day.

I’m absolutely delighted to be on Midnight Roosters exciting new design team. I am inspired by Tobi's drive to make it successful and from the sneaks I have seen so far, I’m itching to get going!

Jing-Jing Nickel

I am Jing-Jing Nickel. Pronounce it like there are nickels in your pocket making that jingling noise! *laugh* I was born and raised in Shanghai, China. My teenage years were spent in Dakar, Senegal, a West African nation. I went to college in Minnesota and hold a graduate degree in mathematics from the University of Arizona. Now I work full time in the Twin Cities, MN, as an I.T. engineer.

When I started scrapbooking in 1999, it was the most perfect extension of my love for traveling and travel photography. Then with the birth of my first daughter, a new dimension of scrapbooking as well as a new realm of creative possibilities was born with her. Today and every day, I scrap my family, my trips, and my family on trips.

As for quirks... I am extremely blunt. I say what I mean and mean what I say. Such blatant honesty is my greatest strength and most inscrutable weakness.

I love to experiment with any and every scrapping style, from minimalist to shabby chic. I also LOVE to get messy by busting out the mists, paints, inks, and glitter!
When I'm not crafting, I like to spend time reading, dancing, eating, and hiking. My favorite T.V. show of all time is Arrested Development, and I love every Fred Astaire musical ever made! Creative-time is a daily essential for me, and I'm constantly trying to strike that perfect balance between being mom, wife, friend, and fulfilled human being…is it even possible?!

This is the week!

Hello my friends! So I just spent an hour writing this post, and then POOF...it disappeared. Love that. I debated on coming back to it later but decided you all needed to hear the good news and you needed to start meeting our amazing DT! So here I go again!!!

So as nervous as I am to post this, here goes...our website is suppose to be done tomorrow (May 5th) which means we will go LIVE on Friday, May 7th!!!!! Holy cow, I don't know whether to hold my breath or pee my pants! Chances are I'll probably do a bit of both. I am also sooooo super excited to start introducing you to our amazing design team! Hi everyone! My name is Charity. I am in my mid-30s. I've been married to my husband, Brian for almost 8 years. We have to darling children- Alexander 5yrs and Audrey 3yrs. I am a full-time stay at home mom and a part-time RN (only one day a week). Most days you can find me cleaning house, playing with the kids, and scrapping. Non-paper addictions include chocolate covered popcorn, musicals and spending time with my family. I began scrapbooking about 7-8 years ago but became seriously addicted about 6 years ago. I also love cardmaking and other paper crafts. My style varies somewhat depending on the photo, my mood or the products I work with. Finding new ways to use product is always a fun challenge for me. I hope to encourage and inspire those around me to enjoy creating, capture their memories and have fun!

Hi! I'm Emily Spahn. I'm so excited to be a part of the first ever Midnight Rooster Design Team! I am a mom, a wife, a music-teacher, a wannabe photographer, and, of course, a scrapbooker! I live in Illinois, but I'm a Wisconsin girl at heart! :) I spend my days teaching general music to middle school students. I spend my evenings with my beautiful one-year old Mirielle. My husband Justin is an accountant, and we have a crazy boxer named Maddie. I have a pretty amazing life, if I say so myself!

I started scrapbooking in about fifth grade, when I made a meticulously crafted page using white typing paper as my background and a hand-drawn crayon title. It was spectacular. I've been hooked every since! I started to scrap more seriously about five years ago. Since then I've been lucky enough to have been on a number of design teams and to have been published in magazines like Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks, Etc., and Scrapbook Trends. My favorite products include patterned paper, kraft cardstock, and alphabet stickers. In fact, I'm pretty sure I could get rid of everything else in my scrap space and create with just those three items!

When I'm not scrapping...or teaching...or parenting...I enjoy writing, reading, music, and photography. I love mac and cheese, Ingrid Michaelson, hoodie sweatshirts, Facebook, Dr. Pepper, indie movies, John Irving novels, iTunes, sneakers, Regina Spektor, sunflowers, Whole Foods, Tumblr, little notebooks, Lake Michigan, crazy socks, Starbucks chai tea lattes, Mark Ruffalo, lip gloss, BabyGap, the color yellow, Wisconsin Badger Football, my family, my friends, and this hobby. And that's a good thing! No complaints here!! I keep tellin' people that this is such hard and time consuming work, but it's the best work of I've ever done (outside of my children) and we are loving every minute of it!

I have to apologize about my blog posts. I know when I say I'm going to post sneak peeks on Sunday's that the peeks come more like EARLY Monday mornin'! But you see, in my off kilter, vampire world...it's really just early evening for me and I'm just gearing up for the night! Those of you fellow night owls get to see the pretty pictures on Sunday night, whilest you normal sleeping, functioning, bright eyed humans probably won't see them till Monday. So sorry!!! But Happy Monday! :)

Ok...so on to more important things! YAY! Check out this FABULOUS sneak photo! My amazing friend Jeri Hoag happens to be a phenominal photographer and has so graciously agreed to take our kit photos every month. Isn't this just yummy???

I will be doing a post later this week of some beautiful family shots she did last fall. I love her, and Jeri...thank you so much again for doing this. Not only have you made my family shine on our walls, but now you are making our kits shine for everyone to see. You are truly an amazing friend.

In some other news...because eventually this blog will go back to being my boring 'ol life blog...my beautiful baby girl had her first Magic soccer game today! We traveled to Ft. Wayne and it was so great to see her play! I missed so many of her games last year when I was working at my LSS, and it was great to be with my family on this day. She rocked the field I must say...in the first five minutes she assisted one goal and scored another!!!!! I was such a happy and proud momma to see her score a goal!! Here is Em after she scored...

Hellllllooooo!!! sorry the blog post is late tonight! We had a belated Easter with von's family today and frankly I was pretty tired. I had to get up at 9:45...which for the rest of you is like...5:00am, seriously. My time is about 4hrs off from everyone Else's. :) I wish I had some photos to share...the kids were super cute and had a blast playing together. the little people have officially outnumbered the big people. Ya know the adult table you all have for holidays, in the special room with the nice silverware? and the kids table where they throw together some card tables and drag out the folding chairs? HA! The kids have taken over the adult table this year...were livin large folks. ;)

So spring break is over for another year...and I am ready for my family to go back to school. I loved hanging out with them all week and it was an awesome week weather wise, only a few rainy days and NO snow! However, i need to get back to my routines...like going back to bed after I drop Kien off at preschool...having cereal for lunch...not showering. :) wanna come hang out with me for a day!? HA! No, seriously, I am ready to get back into the swing of things. Janelle and I have lots of loose ends to tie up for the kits and i will feel so much better when EVERYthing is squared away. I approved our logo and website concept last week...they are SOOOOOO amazing, I can't wait to go live! I also created a midnight rooster facebook fanpage, so please...go and join!!! speaking of the kits...are you ready for your sunday sneaks????

OK...so I tried to post 3 different times yesterday from my blackberry...no lucky. We spent the day in Chicago with the kiddos, which was super fun...but exhausting. I broke my camera...just the lens I think...but that is not good news for my sneak peek coming up for Sunday! I'll get something figured out...but it's really a bummer. Check out this cool photo...I am scared to death of heights and I did NOT want to go up in the tower of death. But I didn't want my kids to see my fear and create fear in them so I took one for the team. The whole time all I could think about was getting down, but not until after we took this amazing, blurry crazy shot.

Yikes...Von was sweating the whole time...he was more freaked out that I was! We were up 103 stories with nothing under us but some thick glass like stuff. How stupid are we??? Once in a lifetime stupid I guess!

so, moving on! Tomorrow is THE big day!! Holy cow, I have butterflies...I can't imaging how you all must be feeling! This was such a hard decision, I don't like looking at layouts to judge them on style...that feels wrong to me. You all put so much love and emotion into your work and for me tell you that your style doesn't fit our club is not easy to do. All of your work is beautiful, and Janelle and I appreciate your kind words of encouragement so much. So if you don't get an email from us tomorrow, please know we never looked at layouts as not being "good" enough...it was simply a style decision. And I am going to stop talking now...I could ramble on for hours until I started to cry!!! Good luck everyone!!! We will be talking to several of you tomorrow!!!!!!

Man...father time sure is clippin along! And without asking me if I'm ok with that! I sure could use a few extra days but then all that would do is take me further away from our d-d-d-d-d-date, our lauch it, get it while it's hot-kit's go on sale and into your eager little hands-date! It's coming, soon, I promise. We aren't ready to release our date quite yet...but May is right around the corner! And...as promised here is a small peek! Can you guess what's in this bag?? Oh ladies, months worth of finger lickin, toe curlin, adhesive runnin, wanna lock my self in my scrap room for days and play KITS!

I love how the sun glares ever so slightly on the baggie so you just get a small glimpse of the pretties inside...aaaahhhh. ;)

I will do small little peeks like these every Sunday night until our website is up.

I had some distractions while I was shooting the sneaks...no wonder I couldn't get more shots of the product...look how cute they are! Even Willo, I had to shave her last week...she looks like a naked mole rat right now...

Hello again ladies!! So sorry for the late post, I meant to post last night but we were soooo busy adding fun, unique and a few handmade B-U-TIFFUL embellies to the kit! They are so much fun, you are going to flip when you see them!

Hello all of my amazing friends, new and old! I should totally be going to bed right now but I feel so bad to not have posted sooner so I am going to pin my eyes open and take one for the team!

First I want to thank all the girls that have sent in submissions for the midnight rooster DT call. I am in serious awe people! The layouts are A-MAZ-ING!! How are we ever going to pick! And your sweet words of inspiration and enthusiasm are blowing me away...I want you all...but unfortunately I can't have you all. :( The deadline for submissions is March 30th with our new DT being announced on April 7th...it's going to be an exciting day!!!!

I went scrapping last weekend and have some layouts I wanted to share...but my photos SUCKED so I will be re-taking them tomorrow and sharing them at a later post. I had such a great time catching up with friends that I haven't seen in such a long time...the weekend always goes too fast. My momma and sis joined us and I just hate it when they leave...we should not have to live so far from each other. Blah.

So I know you are just baring through my boring details WAITING for some new kit news or peeks...so I will not keep you waiting any longer! Check out these boxes in Janelle's basement!!!! One of the boxes is full of nothing but THICKERS...THICKERS people, are the second love of my life and I want to crawl into that box and dream of wonderful titles to use all those sweet, sweet letters on!

OK. So are you all ready to meet this fab chick that I'm paying to be my friend? We are so cool that we had a "dinner" meeting at Ci Ci's pizza tonight...I'll be writing THAT receipt off to the tax man...whew! The kids had a party in the "game room" and our husbands sat and talked about how wonderful Dave Ramsey is as we talked about spending lots of money. Seriously...does it get ANY better??? Not really my friends. Without further adieu, here we are...

This is Janelle. She is one of the most talented ladies I know. I first met her at Lamaze class over 9 years ago when we were both pregnant for our first babies. I knew her husband through a friend but had never met her. I didn't see her again until I ran into her at a scrapbook store, when she said she was going to start having scrapbook retreats. To say it was the best scrapbook weekend I have EVER had is an understatement. She covered every single detail you could possibly think of to make our heads spin and our cha cha's hurt from jumping up with glee every 3 minutes! I've gotten to know her very well since then and we have become amazing friends. When I mentioned this crazy idea to her she jumped on board and I have been paying her and doing her laundry ever since. ;) You'll learn more about her as time goes on but this is just start because I don't want you all to like her more than me yet!

Man, product is really starting to roll in! AAAAAAAAAH!! It is so exciting. I only have one little picture to tease you with because this is all we've had time to photograph!

And oh my goodness we found the coolest place to order vintage goodies...we were in milk cap heaven!!

I'm out for tonight. Craig Ferguson is totally capturing my attention right now and I just don't have the attention span to do both tonight. Adult ADD.

I first want to start out by saying thank you to all my new visitors! I am amazed every day at the amount of people checking my little 'ol blog! To say I am excited for this baby to launch is an understatement, hence the title of my blog. I am patiently waiting...waiting for our logo and website, waiting for our product to arrive, waiting to put kits together, waiting for stamp designs...ahhhh, the awesome waiting game. the problem with this is that I AM NOT A PATIENT PERSON. this is so hard!!!! but they are all very well worth the wait.

so i wish i had more eye candy details for you all, but i really don't! :( I will share this though...not one person dared to cross me against our web designer...i don't really think it was because i'm that scary, i think it's because they all saw how awesome this guy is. seriously, i am dying to see what they come up with...Shawn, DUDE...your killin me man!!!

ok...so why is it that we always want what's most expensive?

I am on the search for a web designer...not just your average joe, corporate, template designing web designer. Hats off to all that do that job and I mean NO harm or disrespect by any means...but we need something more artistic and unique. I was frustrated one night and decided I was done...I was in the mood for some mindless eye candy that made my heart go pitter pat pat. this amazing chick will make you curl your toes in excitment. so i'm scrolling along and come across this...

...oh my. the web site angels were singing in my head and i instantly wanted to grow old in that beautifuly sketched little town of 5 buildings. i want this...well, not THIS one...but you know what i mean. i went here , ebsi websites and liked what i saw. emailed shawn, talked to him the next day for 45 min, we became best friends and i instantly wanted him to design my webpage. he's pricey. that sucks. he's worth it though...my WORD his team can create some wicked cool stuff. i'm really trying not to want it so bad. history shows i am a mean little scrapper when i don't get my way. there...it is written...if i don't get this i warned you all! :)

I'll keep you posted...pray for the people that dare tell me no on this.

P.S...why am i still up at this rediculous time of the night. kien has a field trip tomorrow morning...good thing i keep that happy mommy outfit hanging in the closet.

Ok...so i have had this dream for a LONG time...but our financial situation never really allowed me to make it a reality. then i got like THEE coolest job in the world and i was happy and content and falling in love with owls and trees and october afternoon. then my world crashed and my dream job came to an end and the store closed it's doors. to our happy surprise it was bought by a lovely couple and yet i wasn't sure i wanted to work there...change is hard for me...and to say that the last few months of my job were emotionally draining would not due justice people. but i met the new owner, and the interview was wonderful and i got excited and decided i DID want to go back...i missed the product and all the crazies my heart fell in love with! but she hasn't called me back to work there. i was heartbroken and couldn't understand why, then i heard some horrible things have been floating around about me and i figured those nasty little lies made their way to the important people...and those people decided to believe the nasty stuff. not much i can do about that. i'm cool now. i know that God closes some doors in order for us to open new ones...even if we are a bit afraid. i trust this Man...He knows me...He loves me, and He has never steered me wrong. so i won't be working at the new Pages In Time Forever...and I consider it her loss.

my gain however will be a new dream...and a very special friend of mine, for some crazy reason that i haven't figured out yet want's to be a part of it. we are joining forces...and i am very lucky...she is extremely talented, fun and creative. we are going to do this, and we are going to make it great...and wow i'm scared to death!!! :) here's a hint...

any clues? :) i'll give more hints as time goes on...

Hello my friends!!! Sooooooo...check out the NEW blog! The most amazing Kristina Proffitt redesigned it for me, for...get this...ONLY $25!! Can you wrap your brains around THAT!! She was most amazing to work with and I feel like I've developed a new friend! She is seriously great people...go check her out! There is a link on the side of my blog...you have to use that because I don't know how to give you a link in a sentence...nor do I know how to break into a computer and give people "insider information"...but that's another story...

So some really fun and great things have been happening at the Oxenrider homestead...for starters Von only has TWO more weeks left of basketball. Don't get me wrong, i think it's totally rad and pretty hot that my husband coaches basketball...but i miss this totally rad and hot man. The last month has been CRAAAAA-ZY! and frankly i'm tired of being a single mom! Another geeeee-rate thing is that my beautiful bff has found a VERY nice guy...and they hang out A LOT. even though i miss her terribly i would give my top canines (even though i hope to use them as a vampire someday) to see her married off and all happy in love!! my heart is singing for her, she deserves this more than anyone knows. aaaaaaand...the best news yet??? THE COLTS ARE HEADING TO THE SUPERBOWL BABY!!! will be watching it with our wonderful Colts Fan Friends! weeee, i can't wait!

on to other family news...
Ethan:

I am soooo proud of this boy. he has been sucking his thumb since he ripped himself from my womb! it was adorable when he was a baby...cute as a toddler...embarrassing when his teeth began to be jacked up, and ridiculous when he was still doing it a SEVEN! so we decided no more...we talked about it, encouraged him, got him ready for the big day. but when the big day arrived it s-u-c-k-e-d!!! i wanted to cave, my heart was breaking for him, because you see, in order for him to stop sucking his thumb...we had to take his blanket away. HIS BLANKET!!! his source of comfort, the thing he used to take him to his happy place, me, his mother, ripped it from his sweet little hands. so the first night he cried a bit and crawled up behind me on the couch. he tucked his little hand into the couch and fell asleep behind me...sweet little angel. The next night we took him to build-a-bear and stuffed a wolf with the remnants of his old blanket so that it would always "be" with him. he liked that idea and did ok that night as well...but the next night....WOWZA! not so great. he cried for at least 2 hours...and broke my heart, and frustrated me, and made want to rip that damn blanket from the inside of that wolf and give it back to him! but we didn't, we held strong and so did he. I am happy to report that he is doing PHENOMENAL!!!
Oh...we also chopped all his beautiful hair off...he is sooooo handsome!

that's all the blogging i got in me for today...i do have other children and i'll write about them too some other time i suppose...the ARE pretty cute...yeah, i'll write about them.

so here we go again…i’m doin good at this every 6 months blog thing…on a roll kids! However…i now have my OWN laptop so i have no excuses. von got me the cutest little inspiron…super small and super light, perfect for taking along to crops or blogging or surfing the web which is what i usually end up doing instead of blogging. no one wants to hear about my boring ol’ life anyway! :) i’ll fill in the good parts real quick though…

this kid in the green…yeah, he’s mine…just turned 7!! Wow. These are his punk friends, i mean that in the most loving of terms. I like his friends, they’re pretty funny.

It was a weird October/November. But it will continue on in the hands of some wonderful people, and i am grateful for that. will i work there…time, and Clint and Jennifer will determine that.

ooooooh K….so I guess Christmas did happen. and it was fun, i’m just always glad when it’s over. i loved it as a kid, because it was magical, and I want that for my kids but the woman that made it that way is gone and i’m not sure how to put her spirit in this. I miss her.

since i don’t like to get all emotional i’ll move on to new year’s. THAT did happen, because I felt like shit the next day…good times with the cripes and a “james bond” theme…which i was not fond of at first. but it was fun dressing up!

seriously...wouldn't it be great if we had a giant sham-wow to suck up the shit that life deals us sometimes? i would love to give it to a friend of mine right now...to be able to say "here love, wrap yourself in this, it soaks up all the tears and the suck...wring it out and flush it down the toilet. life is good again." i don't forsee that happening so i guess all of girls will just have to be the sham-wow's in her life.

on a brighter note...had a FABULOUS weekend scrapping my ASS off!!! my sister came this time so it was the first time my mom, sister and i were all on a scrap weekend together! it was the best...i can't can't get enough time with them. i got sooo many layouts done, 25 to be exact. and one of those was a super rad one that totally made fun at my sweet, sick, cashed out friend Fran. sorry, gave her the layout so i can't post. it was good too. just make a mental note, don't fall asleep with a group of dirty minded chicks around! ;) Here's a few of my favorite layouts from the weekend...

this layout has a pretty funny story to it. about 6 months ago kien was done poopin and yelled "mom...i'm done!" ya know...this just isn't one of life's most glorius moments, wipen your childs but...so i said to kien "YES!!! man that's awsome!! I LOVE wipen butts kien...and i am so glad i get to wipe yours!" of course i was being sarcastic, but he didn't know that and now when ever he is done pooping he yells "mom i'm done" and I yell "YES" and he says..."cuz you loooove wipen butts, right mom?"
and i say..."yes kien...i LOVE wipen butts!"

ok...one more, only cuz it's taking too long to upload these. maybe i'll figure out how to get flicker working on my blog and i can just put em all there.

i went back in time a bit and did some catching up on kien's stuff...i think i fell in love with him all over again!!! LOOK at those big 'ol brown eyes! UHHHH!

So yes, God is great...especially to me. I have no idea why because I certainly don't deserve it. He keeps trying to lead me away from things and for some reason I keep choosing the more dangerous and less deserving path. Someday I hope to figure out why He is so patient with me.

Easter was good. Went to ohio to do the regular oxenrider thing. kids had a blast finding their eggs and playing with the bubbles Kathy got for them. Thank goodness for aunts and grandparents that remember to get stuff for easter baskets because being the looser parents that we are WE didn't do ANY baskets for the kids! I got the shape of an L on my forehead. Easter wrapped up spring break week for us...which was pretty low key. The water park was the shizzle....so much fun!!! That place is GYNORMOUS!!!! So what totally sucked about it was that Jeri's kids all got sick. Seriously...felt so bad for her. Kegan passed out, Delanie threw up THREE times...Yuck! But in between feeling like crap and after being pumped with motrin (the kids wonder drug) they did get to play a LITTLE bit. I took NO photos!! Well, i took a few with my phone, but no others! I didn't want to be behind a camera all weekend or take the chance of getting my camera wet. But trust me, we had a fantastic time!!

Beer is good. I found some pics from michelle and my's st. patty's adventure. good times. maybe not for michelle...but it was for me!

And DAMN...people are crazy. period...Burry knows what I mean.

Here's some classes I'm teaching in may. i'm pretty happy with them. we'll see how it goes!

N.C. is fantastic...but dude...it should have been a much better game. Like Tom Izzo said..."they got us before, but this time we will be more prepared and they won't beat us like that again." i'm super excited to for sunday...we are taking the kids to kalahari waterpark in sandusky, OH. this place is so rad! it's huge and we are going to have a BLAST!

also...i am soooo stoked that my spartans are in the FINAL FOUR BABY!!! HELL yea!!!

so i'm down 18lbs. i should feel like a rockstar...and i am glad, don't get me wrong. but in my mind i should be...like...a size 8, and i'm not. it is nice to have people notice...but then i just think, man was i so fat that people are noticing??? such a vicious thing weight is. and i am so not into the treadmill right now. could be my hormonal week, i don't know...but it sucks. i. must. keep. it. going. :)

I am totally bored off my ass as I get ready to jot down a few quick notes before i head off to work.

so why does thunder only happen when it's raining??? I mean, I know WHY...but wouldn't it be wonderful it would thunder every morning as you were getting ready? That'd be so cool.

most of you know that Kien scalped willo...she looks totally stupid right now. I must remember to keep scissors hidden from that boy.

Went and saw he's just not that in to you last weekend for my mom's b-day. I have to say my favorite line from the movie is..."wow, your the best friend I've ever had". it was a cute flick.

my "diet" is going well. I've lost 14 lbs!! i know it's totally the treadmill that is doing it...that's cool. it's good for me to be exercising.

i have a class of 18 women this weekend...what the hell was I thinkin?? this ought to be interesting, fun, but interesting. ok...make that 19, the store called with one more sign up. game on.

Dude...i totally SUCK at blogging right now. i have had NO desire to update this thing, don't know why. Well...tonight i must update, i have so much to show, yippie!!
i first start out with the uber exciting news of our newest family member...she is soft, has four feet, floppy ears, sharp teeth and we LOVE her! willo is her name and she joined our family exactly one week ago. i found her on petfinder.com from a rescue place in Ohio. She has fit in so well...although potty training is going to be a long haul as is to be expected with little dogs. (she is a Pekingese/shi-tzu mix) Ready for some photos????

yes...she has one brown eye and one blue eye which freaks some people out, but i think it makes her unique!

ok...so there is more going on in our lives than just puppy news...it's just not as exciting! :) kids are great! report cards came home and ALL the kids are doing so well! Ethan continues to amaze us with his love for reading and emma's imagination has only gotten more...um..."imaginative" in her writing! Kien knows more letters and sounds than we thought and he loves sitting down and doing his homework with kids at night. good learning going on in our house people.

of course von and andy topped the evening off by joining the polar bear club. leave it my drunk husband and his drunk bff to do something so stupid...it was pretty funny though.

i have fallen in love with the cartoon Phineas and ferb. "hey Phineas...whatcha doin?"

i'm dieting...well...dieting for me. slimfast and the treadmill are my 2 best friends, except for when i'm pms-ing...then candy is my bff. i kinda like it though.

i'm teaching classes again at the store...not kit classes...just fun little classes that don't take so much time.

we got the kids a new game for the wii...animal crossing, city folk. i really like playing this game and can sit for hours at a time walking this strange little green haired shrek looking girl around to pick up apples and coconuts to sell...What the F*&%? oh well. i'm allowed to like it.

well, i'm think i'm done for tonight. this was fun, i'll have to do it again...peace out homies.

So the movie was A-MAZ-ING!!! Best kiss EVER!!!! It made the four inches of snow that we had on the car when we got out worth it. I'm sure there are those that will go and hate it...but if you go in knowing there is no way a movie can completely encompass a book you can't be disappointed. And I wasn't! Can't wait to see it again.

So I've been playing around with some new images I've gotten from a very talented lady from etsy. I'm not sure that I *love* my new blog header...but until Jeri gives me some hints on what to do then this what I have for now. It's cute for my etsy shop but I'm not sure that I love it for my blog. I did get my drawing back from Alexis of a rooster that I had drawn and I'm thinking that maybe I'll do something with that...who knows.

So lets see...what is happening in the not so exciting life and times of the Oxenrider family...ahhh...Von's birthday is Thursday! The big 3-5!! Whoa, how did go from 23 to 35???? Yikes. Oh well, can't stop time. So my etsy shop has been going slow, but it has been going. I've sold THREE things...I get so excited when I make a sale you'd think I was winning the lottery! Fun stuff! My amazing friend Michelle Burry is going to be starting a shop soon and I can't WAIT to see what she puts up...this probably means I'm going to go broke because her shizzle will be so cute!

So Kien was drawing pictures today of his family and I decided to take a shower. While I was in there he came running back and said, "mommy, you wanna tatoo?" I said "no thanks Kien...I'm kinda in the shower right now"...thinking he must have found one of those ones you apply with water. WRONG! I peeked my head out of the shower and he had given himself MANY "tatoos" up and down his arm...his hand...his leg...his tummy..."NICE" I thought to myself. Note to self...don't let Kien play with pens while I'm in the shower...and don't direct him on a path of tatooing...not such an artist yet.

Another a good story...we went to target and of course the first thing Ethan says is..."can I get a toy?" "no ethan...we are not buying toys today" "can we look at them?" he says..."sure" I say. So in the toy section of Target he brings this toy up to me..."mom...if I get this toy it will be the only toy ever that I will get. I won't want another toy from here EVER..." *yeah...riiight* Can't blame a kid for trying!

Oh...some exciting news! my mom is going to start crocheting my little flowers so I don't have to keep buying them. AND...her's are soooo much cuter than ones I would buy...my mom rocks! She sent me a photo of them tonight and Von goes..."wow...those are tight"...what??? did my husband just say "tight" WTF??? That's like Fran's dad saying "that's tits Fran"...anyway...they are pretty sweet.

I don't want this blog to become my political platform or a discussion forum for politics...but all I can say is God be with us on November 4th. I love my conservative friends...but please please please get your facts straight before you make a post about a candidate. Obama strongly opposes partial birth abortions...and he NEVER supported a ban to administer life support to babies born alive during an abortion. If you were watching the debate you saw and heard how he explained this disgusting accusation that he is basically a baby killer. He is a pro-choice candidate that believes that the abortion discussion is not one that the government should be a part of. He believes that this is a decision between a woman, her family and her God. He is a man that is needed to change this country...to take us in a better and healthier direction. No matter who our next president is...I will always be a firm Obama supporter. How can you possibly support a man that wants to take our freedom of choice away? A freedom that God gave us? Who is a president to take the job of God...are we such a desperate nation that we want to put the responsibility of playing God in our next presidents hands? Hmmm...somehow I don't think God is looking for actors to play His part. He is hoping that we make faithful decisions ourselves without laws telling us to do so. Is a law against abortion going to make God happy...if that's the case then why don't we throw out the constitution and use the bible? Because we have a freedom as Americans...as believers, if you are one, to make our own choices to follow God, not be forced puppets on a string. Oh...that felt good. Sometimes I just feel like we are a country with people trying to take us back to the conservative views of the 1950's. I'm just not a 50's kind of girl.

So here I am...back to my cozy little blog world. This is gonna be a long post people...grab some joe!

So Janelle's crop was amazing as usual. Friday night was the equivalent to Opra's favorite things...she gave away such awesome gifts! And the food...seriously, it was so great! We had some great laughs on Saturday night as we drank Heidi Ho's. A heidi ho is a killer drink with vodka...and I don't like vodka...but this is like Kool-Aid girls! You mix BLUEBERRY vodka, cranberry juice and sprite...yum. The trip to the liquor store was the best part...have you ever tried to get booze after nine pm in Nappanee??? not an easy thing. We off roaded through parking lots, down side streets and through gas stations looking for THREE ingredients, all with a van full of giggle-ers. Good times. Can't wait till the next one.

The next weekend my family came back down for a fun photo opp done by none other than the fabuloso Jeri Hoag. This is a good one...hold tight. So we thought it would be great to go up to the Warren dunes, beautiful scenery right??? Well the road had been washed out so we had to walk a mile back to the beach...while toting a large upholstered orange chair, a wooden chair, petty skirt, snacks, puppies, camera equipment...shall I go on? OH...and let me throw in a bit of "girl" stuff here...I had just started my period and could have saved MANY lives people...multiple...if the cullens were around I could have fed their ENTIRE family! And we all know there are just bathrooms galore on the beach...not good. But what's one to do...go with the flow...no pun intended. So my kids were rotten, but hey...they wanted to play on the dunes and be kids. Despite the fact that Kien and Emma were totally NOT cooperating and we started to loose our light, we got some beautiful shots. I love the fact that our family was captured for who we were...not what we wanted to be for a photo. Jeri did amazing under pressure...not sure she wants to get into family photography anymore though! So walking back to the car a few hours later I realize that things in the, ah, nether region probably are not so hot...in fact I'm feeling a rather cool spot on my butt. Yeah...you can guess. Not pretty. Not fun, especially in brand new jeans. Like I've said before...stupid girl parts! Take a look at a photo though...

So the reason this photo is so great is that it captures the very essence of who my family is...see that Emma is having a typical girly moment...Kien isn't happy either...Von is blowing away a mosquito, I of course am paying attention...Ethan is so damn happy to have that stupid horse on his lap, my mom is having one of her ADD moments as she stares up at the trees looking for cloud shapes in the sky...my dad is wondering when this is going to be over and my sister is thinking how glad she is that she doesn't have any kids! I totally love it...a photo should make you happy about your family and smile because you know the funny story behind the frozen moment. Thank you Jeri. (Here's another great one...)

OK...on to the next weekend. Not so exciting. We had our special Birthday crop at the store...which lasted ALL night. From 8am Sat. morning until 6am Sunday morning. I did the 9pm till 6am shift...it was tons of fun. I took a 5 hour nap on Saturday and I was fine into the wee hours of the night. My partner in crime didn't fair so well, Anne was a bit tired as we headed into the home stretch...but she pushed through and we made it! I slept until about 2:30 the next afternoon until Emma's championship soccer game. It was a very close game and Emma's team was the more dominate team...but they lost... 1-0. But on a happy note, soccer is finally over and we can have our Saturdays back, YES!

so a few more things to plug...ELECTION DAY!!! Man I can't wait to get out there and vote! This momma is for Obama! It's exciting to be so passionate about this election and I am so excited and fired up!!! Even more exciting (on a different note of course) is the gap that is closing between me and seeing twilight. I have never wished for a movie so badly!! Uhh...yum! T-shirts or no t-shirts?? I'm thinkin there are enough of us going to the movie together that we should have tshirts...something to ponder upon...

Hi Buddies! Not much to share tonight...just livin life. I have to plug my favorite new music right now. I'm totally loving that soft, acustic folkie sound and I'm listining to a few songs by Jason Mraz. While ipod-ing I also found this guy, Joshua Radin-love-love-LOVE him! I'm also lovin Mindy Smith again. She has a song that totally works for the beginning of New Moon, when Edward leaves...*sigh* Google it, it's called one moment more...and if you haven't read the books all I have to say is WHY THE H-E DOUBLE HOCKY STICKS not???? I don't have flicker, but I like to read the flair and I read the funniest one about Edward...and what's up with the Chuck Norris flair???? confusing...but totally hilarious. I'm also wishing I'd have seen season 4 of Grey's...cuz I would have loved to watch the season premier tonight...oh well.

Busy weekend ahead. Pages has a special crop this weekend for Breast Cancer. Friday will be late...Saturday will be late...Sunday is purse party day, my one for the month. pretty sad. From purse party in warsaw i get to drive to mishawaka for a DT meeting at the store! doesn't that sound like fun?? All the while my family will be in indy enjoying my sister-in-laws baby shower on Saturday and the always anticipated Tavernier Bowl on Sunday. such a pisser, I hate missing that stuff. And I hate being home by my self. I think i'm going to spend the night with my wonderful girl.

I'm entering my grumpy-pissy-ness. WTF???? this is so gay. i hate taking a pill to try to regulate my stupid girl stuff. stupid girl stuff...oh...by the way girls, speaking of girl stuff...don't forget to feel your boobies.

My late night habits are sooo not conducive to my children's lifestyles. I really need to STOP staying up so late because I totally pay for it alllll the next day and I feel like a total loser mom and wife when all I want to do is stare at the back of my eyelids while they are all up and at em. I seriously have the best husband for not bitching at me about being such a night owl.

I'm in a bit of a funk...I always am after my mom leaves. But this time it's double because my sister was here to. She totally surprised me Saturday morning by coming down. Little sneaker...thinkin she can pull one over one me...it was soo great and the kids were so excited to see her. I think she was glad to be here, even though mom and I drug her to Pages to scrap all night, and by all night I mean until 4:30 in the flippin AM! Dude...what am I smokin to think that I can hang with the clock that long??? well...I did get all my class stuff done. And I had a great time scrapping with my girls...always good times! I miss Forks, and Bella, and Edward and Alice...and Jacob too. What do you do when you become so obsessed about a flippin BOOK(S)???? Dream about them all I guess! :)

So little bean man had preschool today. He has a s'mores poptart every morning because he is OBSESSED with them...and I mean OBSESSED! He only had one of the two before I took him to school and on the way there he said "mommy, can I have my udder poptart when I get home"? Me - "Yes Kien, I'll save it for you" So the first thing he does when he gets in the car when I pick him up from preschool is ask where his poptart is and if he can eat it now. OBSESSED!! It sure is quiet around the house with the other 2 kids at school all day. Kien is so good and he plays by himself very well. He has a great imagination and I love just sitting back and watching him pretend...

So I worked tonight...and I am getting a bit pissy that the new stuff from the CHA show has not been rolling in! It's like, crawling in...and a very slow crawl at that! Ugg. So not much to do tonight, but we stayed busy with customers...lovely ones and annoying ones, good thing I love my job!

So when I got home it was my worst &*()&) nightmare come true...dude, I've got the chills right now. I'm gettin my pj's out of the drawer and I layed them on the bed...yeah...your freakin out right now because you know what I'm getting ready to tell you. PEOPLE...there was a HHHUUUGGGEEEE SPIDER on the corner of my bed. Just waiting for me to crawl in so it could drink my O+ blood...and NO...I don't think it was a Cullen in spider drag!!!!! yeeeeeeeikes! I screamed - von jumped out of bed an threw the covers on top of it...i scream "YOUR GONNA COVER IT UP!!!! WERE GONNA LOSE HIM!!!!" he pulls the covers back up and it crawls back to the corner and he says..."GIVE ME SOMETHING"...and I say..."dumbass...your by the closet, grab a SHOE"!!!!! So he did, and he smoooooshed it...and now all it's children are going to come find us and avenge it's death. crap. time to spray. *shudder*

So on that creepy note, I have some more layouts to post...just some that I've done for the DT at Pages. Hope ya like em...I'm gonna have to post them until I can figure out how to put them as a link on the side. I'm such a little virgin blogger!

Ok...so I'm really gonna do this. I figured out how to size my header so I'm pretty stoked. And I'm pretty inspired to get this damn thing going because there are some things I want to do...and I need to get out in the blog world to do them!

So the kids have started school...yikes the summer went fast. Emma is in 2nd grade this year and is pretty used to the routine...although she likes to be a drama queen and fight me on EVERYthing. Ethan started Kindergarten this year...ALL DAY! shew, wasn't ready for that one. Dude...he is carrying a lunch tray ALL BY HIMSELF...and I don't think he's dropped it yet. He's exhausted when he gets home, but he loves it. Kien is still doing the preschool thing. He's a bit lost without his big brother...they are buds. He's doing great and I love the preschool program and the teachers. So that's life here in the education world...let's see, what else...

Mama mia is coming to town on THURSDAY!! Weeee! (not the musical...my actual mom) I'm having a move over martha food party and she's comin for it! I think we are going to scrap Sat. night, can't wait.

So...I'm back from Missouri and my Zag Bag trip with my Aunt. Super fun times!! I am totally inspired to get my blog going so I can update people with Zag Bag info and also stay up to date with family and friends. So here goes...let's see how long this takes me to get rollin'!!
